Clinic Startup Incubator
Impel’s PT Incubator Program gives fellowship-trained, residency-trained, and highly experienced Physical Therapists the information and resources they need to start and successfully run their own PT clinics.
Program Content
- How physical therapy businesses work and run
- How to find and attract patients and physician referrals
- How to profitably manage clinic finances
- How to recruit and hire clinical and non-clinical staff
- How to operate the clinic front office and train staff
- How to support and manage clinical staff
- How to accept patient insurance and navigate insurance requirements
- How to navigate and negotiate contracts
What does the program include?
- Full-time employment throughout the program
- Lectures
- Business Planning
- Functional Skills Workshops
Selected program graduates receive:
- Introductions to potential seed funding sources and lenders
- Business formation and startup support from program coordinators
- Ongoing operational, marketing, financial and strategic support
Qualified applicants will be selected for an interview
Qualified applicants are:
Fellowship/Residency trained OR have 10+ years practicing physical therapy in an outpatient setting;
Desirable qualities in an applicant include:
- Ability (or willingness to learn) to lead others and help them grow
- Mastery of physical therapy skills, patient care, and patient interaction
- Desire to learn and experiment

September 30th – Applications Close
October 15th – Final Acceptance Notifications
October 30th – Enrollment and Licensing
October through December – Insurance Credentialing
2025 – PT Incubator Program
January 7th – Program Start
September – Business Plan Presentation
November through December – Start-up Workshops
December 17th – Graduation
